As the many multiversal guests are gated in, singly or in groups, a crowd slowly begins to form in the entry hall. Lioncourt looks up from her meditation break and claps her hands twice: in moments, a dozen automaton servants file out from the adjoining rooms, hands of gleaming white porcelain holding equally elegant china tea-sets. A pair of the automatons open the doors at the far end of the hall, revealing a tiered rose garden, the stone benches dotted here and there ringing a large central clearing.

"Tea is served, either here or in the gardens: I would appreciate it, however, if some of my guests might proceed onward so as to reduce crowding."

Viridian pushes off of the ceiling and gracefully lands on their feet on the floor below. Not even a single drop of tea is spilled.

"Like so. Thankfully, I also seem to be unharmed by falling great distances. It's been useful about as often as it's been inconvenient."

"I can imagine. Can you flip in midair, or do you need a surface to push off of?"

"Generally I need either a surface or a lot of time... falling out of the atmosphere, for instance, wouldn't be a concern, but if I went outside and flipped I'd likely break the oath to remain inside the grounds before I could flip again."

"Huh. It sounds like... hmm. Maybe you want to figure that out on your own.

"What about walls, or ramps? Can you flip to any orientation, or is it just up and down?"

"Just local gravity and the inverse of that, yeah. Like, ramps act for me the same way they act for most people - friction keeps me from sliding downhill."

"I wonder what would happen in zero-gee... anyway. Hi, I'm Ahrotahn, nice to meet you."

"Viridian, nice to meet you as well.

"That is an interesting question... I know in artificial gravity environments I can still flip to fall towards the center of the station, though that ends up messing with my sense of balance. Perhaps in zero-g I would just bounce off of walls like anyone else, but be more used to it?"

"Or maybe you would flip relative to whatever you were orbiting. If you were orbiting something. Or, maybe it's not possible to get exactly zero gravity, I think I remember the term 'microgravity' being used for situations like that.

"Oh, Viridian! Of the Souleye? I have something for you." She takes off her backpack and rummages through it.

"The very same.

"I think a microgravity environment would be more or less indistinguishable from a zero-g environment, even to flipping? It wouldn't really matter in what direction I was very slightly being pulled in."

"It might affect how you reorient? Like, if you flipped now, your head would be toward the floor, but if gravity were," she points behind him, "toward the door over there, you'd flip to face the door while your feet were still on the floor. I think."

She finds what she's looking for: a stack of three books, bound in yellow-brown cloth, their spines bearing a green mark resembling a torn seam. "These are Linking Books to my world. They're one-way only, so you shouldn't use them unless you have your own way back, or intend to stay. But they might be helpful, for the evacuation of Vearth."

She opens one, showing a moving illustration of a desert landscape. "This is the Linking Panel; anyone who touches it will be transported." She closes the Book again, and hands Viridian the stack.

Viridian eagerly accepts the books.

"Thank you! Now if only I had a faster way to bring these back to Vearth... Ah, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, I suppose."

"I'm afraid I can't help you there. There was someone on the forum who might be able to help, though, I forget the name. I think I might have seen her around here somewhere? Something about interdimensional teleporters."
