As the many multiversal guests are gated in, singly or in groups, a crowd slowly begins to form in the entry hall. Lioncourt looks up from her meditation break and claps her hands twice: in moments, a dozen automaton servants file out from the adjoining rooms, hands of gleaming white porcelain holding equally elegant china tea-sets. A pair of the automatons open the doors at the far end of the hall, revealing a tiered rose garden, the stone benches dotted here and there ringing a large central clearing.

"Tea is served, either here or in the gardens: I would appreciate it, however, if some of my guests might proceed onward so as to reduce crowding."

Tyche files this away for later consideration.

"I was wondering if you had any scrap materials I could use; metal and glass in particular. I'm making a medical nanofabricator for Anda and Linsa, but I'm a bit short on feedstock."

"I have ample quantities of ceramics, but scrap metal and glass are not things I keep immediately to hand. How much would you need? If it's important, I can have even moderately unreasonable amounts arranged, since I own a shipyard in Mark." Lioncourt spreads her hands. "My resources are, of course, available for the requests of any of my guests."

Tyche taps her fingers against her leg as she thinks. "I could substitute ceramics for some components, but too much will make it fragile, which is a bad trait in a nanofabricator. Glass's raw materials work as well as the final product, if you have moderate quantities of silica sand about. Oils or resins for plastics would help some..."

She is likely to go on in this vein for a while unless interrupted.

"Unfortunately, while one of the castle's entrances faces the coast, it is not exactly a beach. If you have a specific list of materials you wish, draw it up and I will see that they are assembled within the length of the party." Lioncourt nods firmly. "Was there anything else you wished to speak to me about? I'm sorry to be so abrupt, but I have a larger party than I expected and as a result am having to take more of a hand in things than I anticipated."

Lioncourt blinks. "Oh. My apologies, I haven't given you anything to write on." She quickly retrieves a fountain pen and a small pad of paper from a nearby servant. "Here you are. I assume you still know how to do handwriting in your world?" Her eyes dance with amusement.

Tyche examines the implements for a moment, and then nods. "If the translation effect can handle it," she says. "The only other thing was that I wondered if you had any insight into handling alien biology, for the same reasons."

"So far, I've only dealt with the biologies of my local world, which are approximately 'earthlike.' If I had an alien in front of me, I might be able to give you better advice, but until then..." She shrugs. "Thank you, by the way, for the reminder to examine some alien biology."

"Anda is still over there, I think," Tyche says, gesturing in the relevant direction. "Though I should warn you they are very leery of anything resembling surgical procedures. Anyway. I'll leave you to your organizing, if you wish."
